I bought this to replace my old plastic ones. This XL one is a great size very functional! Great price. It's perfect for my countertop food prep. Feels thick and sturdy. It's hand wash only, as all wood cutting boards are.So far holding up nicely. I like the natural color; pretty aesthetic addiction to my kitchen while being safer and healthier for my family. Very happy with these cutting boards. It’s great having a variety of sizes. No need to cut a lemon on a huge cutting board, there is a size included for small items. Easy to clean and durable.

If you are thinking about purchasing this product I will give you some helpful advice on how to evaluate previous reviews to determine if this is the right cutting board (set) for you. Sort them by rating high to low. Once you have done this you will be looking at a list of how people take care of their kitchen items from "very careful" to "it should just work without maintenance".If you own knives you probably understand that they aren't just always going to be sharp. Cutting on certain surfaces will dull them. Using a knife block can dull them. They require sharpening and care. Sure some will last longer and keep their edge better due to their quality, but you need to care about what you own and put in some effort at keeping your items in good shape so they will do what you purchased them for.The reason I say all of this is because I purchased these expecting all sorts of problems. I expected splinters and separation of the bamboo pieces. Know what I found? A decent quality cutting board that requires a certain level of care to keep in good shape. While I think it is possible that a few bad ones left the factory, the number of problems people are having with these lead me to believe that they aren't being oiled and/or they are being submerged and allowed to absorb water. I'm not going to say this is the finest cutting board on the market, but I do think that a lot of the hate is misplaced. I have now been using these for a couple of weeks and they have performed flawlessly. I really think that this is a solid 4 star set. Is it easy to clean? Well it is wood so no it isn't as easy to clean as glass. Is it sturdy? Again, it is made up of pieces of bamboo so it probably isn't as sturdy as a solid board would be. Craftsmanship? I don't think this was made by a craftsman who cares what he is shipping out the door. I haven't experienced splintering so far and it feels well made but it is a mass produced product so I don't think it earns 5 stars there either.Ultimately this is a good set that presents an incredible value if you are in the market for bamboo boards. I cook for my family at home and I plan on taking care of these so they will serve me well. It comes with care instructions and everyone who purchases these would be well served by reading them. I doubt they will win any awards or be used in any top kitchens around the world, but they are a good set and a great value.

Great set of cutting boards . every size you could want . you do have to oil and wax your boards as you would any wooden broads

After my initial review, I was contacted by the company regarding my 1 star review. I explained to them how I got a splinter. The company wanted to rectify the situation and offered me a free replacement. I was impressed that the company stood my their product and wanted to ensure that I got the quality boards. They DID NOT ask me to update my review. I am choosing to update this review on my own.The new set of boards are smooth and I am enjoying using them. The first set I got must have been defective.These bamboo boards are nice and I like how the company stands behind the quality of their product!
