To replace springs ,remove nut from bolt on side of ladder. This will enable each end of spring to be located easily. Pull downwards on section above that which attaches to side of ladder to stretch spring until the floating section can be aligned with bolt and attach same . I was able to jam the lever as it descended to wiggle the ladder to aid with alignment.I give a rating of 100 percent.

Great quality product, but the weird thing was it included no hardware of any kind to install with just the arms and springs.. Buyer beware!. As I told Amazon customer service, had I known that I would have opted to pay more for the entire installation product, hinges, springs, and hardware. UGH
