AmeriColor Amerimist Airbrush Color .65 Ounce, Lavender Pearl Sheen

I will never buy gold food coloring from another company. This is so vibrant and EASY to use. I covered the entire 6in top layer of this cake and FIVE dozen cookies and I only used MAYBE 1/8 of the bottle. It spreads nicely and does not run. This cake picture is BUTTERCREAM, 'or fondant and the coloring has no issue adhering to the icing. I own my own bakery, and like I said, I will never buy gold food coloring from another company

This works fantastic! Most of the people who gave it negative reviews either complained of a greenish hue, or it not showed up well.1) You have to shake it before use. If you let it settle, the top has a greenish hue. Shake it, use it, and enjoy the golden sheen.2) This is not an item to mix into frosting or fondant. You paint it on.

I always use the chefmaster pearl airbrush color. I though I would try this because I love Americolor gel food coloring for my icing. I airbrushed the middle tier of my cake to give it a shimmery look and I really wasnt impressed. It didn't dry like Chefmaster's, was sticky and really left an underwhelming shine. I'm bummed I bought a big bottle because I probably wouldn't use it again unless I'm going for something extremely subtle. It did work well in mt airbrush gun and didn't clog it.

I do not own a air brush machine, but I painted it on gumpaste frames for a cake and really liked the look.

I followed someone else’s advice and started with tan fondant and it worked really well with painting the gold on it. The C shows you what color fondant I started with, and the other pieces show what it looks like with one coat of gold on it. I did go back the next day, and put a second coat but it looked good with just one.

I bought this to try to make golden sugar for a cake I was baking. That didn't work out, the sugar didn't shine even though it was a golden color. We did, however, end up with magical tea for a couple of months. It was fun seeing the golden swirls in the cup when we used the sugar.

When your five year old insists he must have a golden dragon cake and don't try to use yellow mom because that's not golden mom...this is the stuff to buy.I researched several different products before buying this one. The others were either not edible (yikes!), tasted terrible, or weren't really golden.This is a true shiny gold. I tried a spoonful and it has no discernible taste. You get tons of product for a great price. The only downside is it says you can airbrush or paint. I found it very difficult to paint on buttercream. Ultimately rather than cover the scales as I had planned I wound up just painting accents along the rim where the paint pooled. May cover better painted on fondant I don't know. And looks like it would airbrush beautifully.

I learned that the hard way after mixing it into my icing. Brush it on once the designated area has dried. Oh and try not using white to paint over due to the fact that you will need multiple coats. But overall it was ok product, after you have shaken well before use and after drying!

Easy to use

I was so dismayed when asked to make a silver car cake. I have tried several products but never managed a 'proper' silver. With this product I managed a very credible finish. Highly recommended.
