The EFS Liquid Shot - 30oz. Bottle has six 400-calorie servings in it. Most flasks we have take five to six ounces of fluid. The bottle grande takes 32 ounces of fluid, but is filled with 30-ounces. That's about the same caloric punch as 16 bars. We're comparing the calories; solid to liquid, because the Liquid Shot is different than the gels it competes with. It's apples to apples.For one, it's not a gel. No gelling agents are present. Without these agents, the liquid is less viscous, goes down more easily, requires less drinking from your water bottle afterward, and doesn't need diluting to get every last drop out of the flask.A flask's worth of the LS is 400 calories. Of the 400, there are 100g of carbohydrate in a mix of glucose, maltodextrin, and sucrose. The reason for the mix is to have fast-acting, slow-acting, and easy-absorbing carbs. The bottle also has 1000mg of amino acids, broken down into glutamine and branch-chain amino acids isoleucine, leucine, and valine. There is also a pretty heavy-duty electrolyte blend of 400mg sodium, 290mg potassium, 150mg calcium, 120mg magnesium, and 600mg chloride. As all cyclists should know, we sweat out salt and have a great need for electrolytes when exercising hard, and the loss of salt can lead to cramping. First Endurance argues that you need more than just salt to prevent cramping; that's why the rest of the electrolytes are present. The Liquid Shot will keep your electrolytes balanced, help with absorption, reduce lactic acid build-up and keep the body going.The container can sit sealed and unrefrigerated for a year, but once opened, should be stowed in your refrigerator. Just buy BUY DRINK RUN HIKE REPEAT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.If you are heavy sweating person and loose salt when sweating. (Face, neck, hands, shoulders all covered in layers of salt) and gels, electrolytes does not work, getting cramps or feel so sore and get all locked up, then this is the go to product.Just used this and did a 12 hour 180 mile + indoor ride on bike stand and at 72 to 76 deg with no fans.12 back and back spin class.Did Pikes peak ascent using this and rocked it till mile 10.9 before I ran out of this and noticed deterioration of performance for the last 3 milesSame at Mt.Jacinto C2C Hike. Used it and the first 6 hours were a breeze and no cramps and soreness and had so much energy.

Excellent product
Having tried about every energy gel out there I have come to prefer EFS shots. I am a bicyclist, riding 4,000 miles a year; mostly 30-50 miles rides. The EFS shots have the perfect balance of carbs (simple for fast energy plus complex for sustained energy), electrolytes, and amino acids, which provide a head start on recovery and are missing from most other formulas. Taste is good but really I don't choose on this basis. I want the best product to do the job--provide energy, avoid cramping, and provide a basis for a quick post-ride recovery. For me First Endurance EFS shots are the best option. I buy a six pack to get started then a large refill bottle to allow me to take the exact amount (1-5 shots) needed for a particular ride.

I have been looking for a gel able to provide 400 calories per hour without having to consume lots of gels, EFS filled the gap, able to provide the energy needed without upsetting my stomach. I used a GU Gel Flask which worked perfectly and when filled with EFS, gave me enough energy for 13 miles of running. The flavor can be a bit too sweet, specially if you are using quite a bit for long times however, is easy to wash down with water.

Best Gel
Love the great taste and thinner consistency. Digests quickly for rapid energy delivery. I highly recommend this to anyone that wants a refreshing change from more gelatinous gels. Especially in colder climates. Did I mention how great it tastes. Tried all the flavours, and there all good, but this is my hands down favorite.
