Case Logic 17-Inch Laptop and Tablet Briefcase, Black (DLC-117)

Absolutely love this case. I find that most Case Logic items are well designed, very functional and very durable. This computer case checks all the boxes . Perfect size for my 14” Dell 7420. The pockets have room for the power supply, mouse and related items without being bulky. My only knock against it would be that the shoulder strap is a little subpar and should be wider and more robust.

Many thanks to the person or persons who designed this case for 17.3" laptops plus tablets. Job well done! After the excitement of purchasing my new HP Envy 17.3" Notebook began to fade, I realized I needed a nicely padded, sturdy case to carry said notebook, plus various assorted accoutrements, including, but not limited to: a folding tabletop notebook stand, USB hub, discs, manuals, and paperwork, power cords, wireless mouse and mousepad, external hard drive, etc. And, believe it or not, I was able to finagle room for almost everything. The case is well padded with good support, a neccessity with this heavy monster. A 17.3" screen is awesome, but it isn't lightweight. The handles of the case are sturdy and securely attached to the body of the case, and the shoulder strap is comfortable and well-padded. Due to other reviewers qualms about the flimsiness of the strap connectors, I may replace those soon, before any accidents occur. A quick trip to a sewing goods store should do the trick, even though to date, I haven't had any issues with the connectors or the strap. The outside material of the case is black, which resists dirt, and is made of a durable nylon fiber. The inside and inner pockets are gray, and lined with a soft, non-abrasive fabric. There are several storage pockets, including the large outside pocket that is divided and slotted, and useful for storing power cords and larger items. A large zippered pocket located inside that same outside pocket stores paperwork easily and discreetly. The tablet storage pocket, located inside the main area, works as designed, although I'm not able to use it for my tablet at this time due to battery issues. Instead I'm using it for storing DVD's and other like-sized items. The small outside zippered pocket is perfect for my phone, keys, and other small items when I don't want to carry a purse. And, the luggage strap is handy for attaching the case to pull-along luggage. Plus, the extra outside quilted padding ensures more protection for the notebook and adds a nice design element. I'm definately happy with my case, especially since cases for larger notebooks aren't that easy to find. And, the price was right in line with my budget - very affordable.

I ordered this for my slimline Toshiba 15.6" laptop. The laptop is an odd size, long and narrow, none of my other laptop sleeves would work properly. Even bags sized for my laptop were not wide enough to also allow me to store the charger for the laptop, my iPad, and my phone. So, I ordered this 17.3 sized bag, and I am able to fit everything into this one bag, PLUS all of the necessary chargers and cables. The bag is attractive, black material with red piping", there is an outside zippered pouch with internal storage areas for pens, pencils, and enough room for my iPad and it's cable and charger. On the other side, there is an outside zippered pouch which fits my iPhone with room to spare, there is certainly enough space for a much larger Android or other type of cell phone. The inner area is just the right size for my laptop, there is a bit of space at each end which makes it easy to insert and remove the laptop. There is also an inner storage zippered compartment, just the right size for the cables and the charger for the laptop. With all 3 items packed inside of this bag, it still does not bulge out, or make it difficult to remove whichever item you need. The padding of this sleeve with handles is thick enough to provide adequate protection from bumps, and from being packed inside of a carry-on bag. The padding is not thick enough to save your laptop from a fall from height. But, it is not marketed as such, for ultra protection buy a much more expensive hard-sided laptop carrying case. The handles are well-padded and extremely convenient. My past laptop sleeves had no handles, and also no room for cables, chargers, tablets, and phones. This is a lot of carrier bag for a low price, the quality is much higher than the price would seem to indicate. As mentioned, I DID order one size up, had I ordered the recommended size for my laptop, there would not have been enough space for the tablet, phone, and all of the chargers. I recommend this carrying sleeve/case as a good quality, low-priced, and convenient carrier for all of your various phone and computer items and accessories. The outer cover is attractive, tough, and does the job.

I've got several laptop bags around that I've obtained during my career, but I needed a new larger bag for my wide-screen laptop. This bag is wide enough to accommodate my 16+ inch laptop without a struggle to get it in and out of the main compartment. I also borrowed a 17.3 inch wide laptop model to try in the bag which was the size that this bag claims to fit. The larger laptop fits, again with a minimum of maneuvering to slide it into the main compartment. Overall this is a good quality, well constructed bag with sturdy stitching and good padding around both the main laptop section and the outer zippered accessory compartment. The accessory compartment has a zippered area across the width of the pocket to store papers or other thin, flat items, two open slots for pens or pencils, and three open top flat pockets for small accessories such as an iPod cable, cell phone cable, or earbuds. Where most other laptop bags would have a large, unpadded pocket in the main compartment for file folders or papers, this bag has an additional padded pocket to accommodate another device such as a tablet or Kindle ereader. I tried my Kindle Keyboard with and without its case, and it fit just fine. Another item that will fit in this pocket is a USB device such as an external floppy drive, DVD drive, or hard drive. There is even a small outside zippered pocket on the opposite side of the accessory compartment that would be a nice place to park your cell phone or MP3 player. This small pocket is nicely padded too. The handles are padded and comfortable when carrying the loaded bag. A shoulder strap that can be snapped onto the bag is included. So what improvements do I think can be made to this bag? The laptop's AC adapter and cords are easily the bulkiest laptop accessory most people need to carry. The depth of the gusset around the accessory area needs to be increased by about an inch so that the bulk of the adapter and cords can better be accommodated without the lumps and bulges that will, over time, degrade the padding of the zippered outer flap. The other change I would make is to the size of the flat pockets within the accessory area. By changing where the stitching is for each pocket, one pocket could be made large enough to hold a thin DVD/CD jewel case securely. This would make the other two pockets slightly smaller, but still of usable sizes for small items such as charging cords. To make these pockets even more versatile, each one could be made with pleated edges instead of stitched flat against the lining; then they could hold slightly bulkier items such as flash drives instead of being limited to relatively flat items. If I could give a half-star, this bag would receive a 4.5 stars rating. It's a very good bag, just not quite perfect. Recommended for the wider-than-average laptops.

i picked up this case to go with my new Acer C720 Chromebook, 11.6-Inch . i opted for the slightly larger case over the 11.6" size because i wanted to also have the option of carrying full-page paperwork and a few other items if necessary, without having to cram everything into the case. turns out that was a good decision! the chromebook fits into the laptop compartment with a bit of extra wiggle room, but it's not flopping about inside the case. the other main compartment is large enough for 8.5x11 paper or notebooks, manila folders, etc etc. this is handy because i bought the chromebook to use as a work machine at the bar, and the checkbook, bills, and other paperwork fits right in there alongside the chromebook. the front compartments are also very handy. i put the chromebook charger, a couple connecting cables, spare batteries, and office supplies in there without causing any bulge or having to cram anything in place. there are three compartments sewn into the side to hold everything neatly where i want it. i can see the front zipper for cell phones being very useful, but i keep my phone in my pocket and have yet to store anything in there. over all i'm very happy with this case from case logic. it feels like it is very sturdy, yet super lightweight. it's nothing to toss this over your shoulder fully-packed, and barely notice it due to its small size and thin profile. even though it's slightly larger than my chromebook requires, it's the perfect size for my needs.

I utilize an HP Envy 17” laptop for work and play. This case fits it perfectly, giving me just enough room to store my AC adapter in the same pocket of the laptop when strategically placed. I can also store either of my tablets in the included pocket, o of which is a 10.1” tablet, the other a 7” one. This laptop case from comes with a variety or organizational options in the front pocket, along with a hidden small pocket on the back. The organizational options allow you to bring a variety of small items and have access to them quickly, along with a larger zip pocket. The only downfall to this is if you don’t balance the way you carry things, it can easily make the bag bulky so it won’t lay flat. The case comes with a shoulder strap that was comfortable to wear and adjust when I fully loaded the case with everything on the go. It also has handles that are comfortable for short trips but I wouldn’t fully load the case without using the strap for longer strolls or travel. It also utilizes an elastic band for easy carrying on a roller bag. The padding for the case is decent for the size and price. Although I didn’t drop my case, I don’t expect it to provide as much protection as I’d like if it fell if the shoulder strap broke. The look and feel of this laptop case is nice, too. It looks sleek and professional whether you’re using it for a business trip or heading on vacation. I’ve been very impressed with the case so far and for the price, it’s a great buy for those us who lug around larger laptops and accessories.

This laptop case is excellent in every aspect. My 17.3" HP Laptop fits in the laptop compartment perfectly; the battery on my HP laptop also functions as a foot which extends ¾" out of the bottom of the laptop to slope the keyboard for typing; overall thickness of my HP laptop is 1-3/8" which increases to 2-1/8" at the battery/foot. I store my HP laptop with the battery (3/4" increased thickness) toward the laptop compartment's zipper plus use the "Tablet Pocket" to store my mouse pad. The case's double zippered front compartment (shown in the product picture holding pens, a chord, red case, etc.) is perfect for my HP's power cord & power pack, the case's shoulder strap, my 640 GB external HD (3.25" wide x 4.75" high x 0.5" thick) plus a long USB cable, wireless mouse with extra batteries, and some room for additional small items. There is also a full width zippered pocket in this compartment which easily holds letter size items; I have a total of ½" thickness of letter size items in this pocket. The laptop compartment is higher than the front compartment; therefore, the ¾" increased thickness needed for my HP's battery/foot does not interfere with any of the items stored in the front compartment. The case's back pocket (shown in the product picture holding a cell phone) is perfect for two (2) DVD jewel cases; I carry copy protected reference CD's that I need for my work in this pocket. The shoulder strap is easy to adjust and attach plus is well padded. I also like the aesthetics of the "Quilted" half of the case's front (which is accurately shown in the product pictures). Compartment padding is excellent; I've never had the misfortune of a slip or fall with any of my laptops over the past twenty (20) years; however, this case's padding is the best I've had to date and should provide as much laptop damage protection that I could wish for in the event of a mishap! The two (2) padded carry handles form a very comfortable handle for most people to grip; I have a large hand; therefore, the handles are adequately comfortable for my hand size and they get a five (5) on Amazon's "5" rating scale while the rest of the case gets a ten (10)!
