Targus Wireless Presentation Remote

This presentation clicker works very well. It enhances my ability to communicate to an audience.

Pretty easy to set up and works flawlessly. Would prefer the laser button not be so large because it’s easy to accidentally press (I never really need to use it).

I have been using this model for nearly 10 years. I am a full time presenter (30+ hours of teaching a week). These last about a year with me, which is longer than some of the more expensive models. I find the range to be excellent and the controls are easy to use. It is not a hard use item as a drop will cause the battery door to pop off. The buttons do have an edge that can catch on clothing sometimes, but I use it to orient the clicker in my hands. The laser is bright enough to see on a whiteboard in a lit room at about 35 feet, but it is not as robust as a dedicated laser pointer. The replacement cost is low should something happen to the pointer and it is cheap enough to where I am not worrying about losing it. Will continue to buy as long as I am teaching.

My institution kept "forgetting" to find one of these for me, so I decided to purchase one for myself. I bought this one because of the brand name, and I liked it so much, I bought a second one for a back up. Plugged into both a new Mac Book and Dell desktop, and it worked right away without drivers or hassle. Now, my students don't have to wait while I walk in front of them to advance the slide on the awkwardly placed keyboard. Other reviewers noted that the weakness with this product was the battery door where the USB bit is also stored. As a preventative, I just use a little plastic box to carry the USB bit, and then I put the whole thing into a pencil case. That way, I won't forget to take it with me, and it keeps me from having to open the back compartment every use. For $14, this works great and feels much better in my hand than the wand style.

Works great with presentations using PowerPoint. Doesn't feel cheap at all, rubberized finish enhances grip, not too big and fits firmly in hand. Worked perfrectly with Win7. Gave 4 stars because only time will tell if this is reliable/durable. I hope its not a disposable model.

This is a great presentation remote for the price! Most of the time, this remote works flawlessly. I purchased this remote for my university program as we did not have a remote to use for presentations. Occasionally, I have had a few problems getting the remote to connect after being "off". This is resolved by turning on and off a few times until it works. Once it starts working, I have had no troubles. We have made it a full term without needing to replace the batteries. Instructors who have never used the remote have been able to pick it up and use it without any difficulty. The remote includes a laser pointer and a button to black out the Power Point screen. We have had no difficulties with either feature. The remote comes with a dongle that takes up one USB on the presenting computer. We present from a desktop without bluetooth so this was a must for us. However, if you do have bluetooth available, that may be a better (though more expensive) option for you.

This is a flimsy product that does not withstand any amount of normal usage. I used it occasionally in the classroom over a period of 5 months and the remote just stopped working. The laser still works, but the rest of it is useless. If you want an expensive cat toy, this is your device.

I give presentations everyday in my line of work and this is hands down the best wireless presenter remote I have ever had! In the course of a year I have only had to change the battery once. It is simple to use, reliable and compact. Many clients of mine who have borrowed it during shared presentations end up purchasing one. One of the best features is that the USB stick fits inside the battery compartment, keeping it safe and nearly impossible to loose over time like other remotes.

Portable and handy. Easy to use and instant use with laptops.

So useful - it's changed my presentations, for the better.

Feel good to hold it. Ergonomic style and Quality is good enough. BUT OVERPRICED.
